🌿 From the idea to a heartfelt project – Why I founded funkenschauer

I'm Alex – founder of funkenschauer – and today I'd like to take you behind the scenes: Who's behind this shop? Why does it even exist? And what drives me every day to create products that are more than just pretty things?

👋 Who I am – a few personal lines about me

My name is Alexandra – but almost everyone just calls me Alex. I'm 34 years old, a Taurus, and live in the beautiful Hallertau region, right in the heart of Bavaria. Before I opened my shop When I founded my own company and became self-employed full-time, I was working as a graphic designer—so I've always been creative. But deep down, I harbored a desire to create something of my own. Something that not only looks beautiful, but also conveys emotion.

When I'm not designing new products, I love traveling, taking photographs, or relaxing on the couch with a good book and my three cats. I find inspiration almost everywhere—but especially while traveling and between the pages of my favorite books.

🎁 It all started with the search for that one gift...

That's exactly what I wanted.
But I noticed again and again: I couldn't find what I was looking for in traditional shops. Too impersonal. Too interchangeable. Too little emotion.
So I started creating my own aesthetic gift ideas with meaning that connect people.

What began as a small passion project quickly became something bigger. I wanted to create products that were authentic, that combined emotion and design—and that you couldn't just give as a gift, but that you could feel .
